tom and imogen are nice. the middle names are maybe a bit bland for me, but don't let that put you off! hey, it might all change when the little 'un pops out ...
Maxxo i kinda know what you mean, Mary is my Grandmother-in-law! Who we both adore so kinda a tribute i suppose and Andrew is my brother who died 11 years ago. Strangely it mas Chris who chose Andrew and me who chose Mary. We both agree we would never choose either as a first name! Pol x
Hi! Thanks for popping over to my blog, just returning the visit. I see you're going to be a bit (earth shatteringly) busy soon. Good luck with that and congrats on your 100th post.
And I like your names. Good names, spelt properly.
I think it is so cool that you don't know the sex. I don't know if I could do that or not. I bet you can't wait to put one of those names with him or her.
Hi, the black box has a lot to answer for! Tom and Imogen are nice names, although just as a warning, my colleague's daughter is called Imogen only it's shortened by all her friends to to 'Immy'.
If it is Imogeen I like it. If the e is short, not liking it as much. but then i am just a random blogger who found you by playing with the black box, so don't listen to me!
The black box has brought me here three times now. Don't envy you having to chose names. DS, who was supposed to be a girl called Rianna, was nameless until we were threatened with prosecution for not registering him. He was eventually named after his Irish godfather. I thought about another Irish name for DS and loved the name Sorcha. Great said husband 'cup and Sorcha' so that was binned. We eventually chose a name that was unheard of in Ireland, where we were living, only to discover it was in the top 5 of the Times Girls names List in the UK! Good luck and I shall pop back again. Found you using the black box...love your name choices. I'm pregnant with number 2 right now, and my husband and I are choosing names. I liked Isaac Micheal for a boy until I told my husband, at which point he danced around the living room chanting "Ike Mike! Ike Mike!" So, that's out. Anyway, congratulations!
I think the names are lovely :) If you and your husband like them, that is all that matters. Names are such a personal thing. We actually searched books and gave a lot of thought to my son's name. I knew my daughter's name from the moment I found out I was pregnant. It just popped into my head. I knew who she was, and never even bothered to think of any boy names "just in case."
Two cents you might not like, but I'd like you to consider: My parents were going to name me Esther after a friend of theirs, but their friend forbade it, telling them that they were not giving their daughter an old-woman name like Esther. So my name became Jena and my middle name Esther. And I have forever been grateful to Esther for her intervention; I love my name.
Imogen, to me, feels like it falls into that same category with Esther (although there is that little Hermann girl in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever...). You don't know me, and you certainly don't have to pay any attention to this opinion (I black boxed my way here, too), but like I said--I continue to be grateful to Esther for talking Mom & Dad out of it.
One of my sisters had a middle name of Imogen. She truly hated it all her life. (She died several years ago at age 68.) So I'm a bit against it. BUT, my opinion doesn't and shouldn't matter a bit.
Hi! The black box brought me here, too. It's giving you lots of exposure!
I tend to agree with the comment on old names. My parents named me Shirley after one of my aunts, and while I like her well enough, I have never liked my name. HATE it, actually. But changing it would not just be inconvenient but insulting. So I live with it.
I love that you and your husband have chosen middle names that are special to you because they belong to important people in your lives. My youngest son was named after my brother, he was given my brothers first name (John) and a different middle name. I have an aunt that passed away whom I was very close to, her name was Mary. I didn't want to name one of my daughters after her because I don't like old fashion names but I did try to find a first name that I liked to use with Mary as a middle name. I had no luck and to this day I wish I had of used her name.

And what are the names if you have a girl?

is that Imo-geen or Imo-gin?

I do like Tom Andrew, though. Classic.
Here via the Black Box.

I do like Tom Andrew a lot.
beautiful names!!!
just remember people tend to shorten any name, so she'll be called Imo for a long time to come...
LOL
